Asha Robertson

Asha Robertson's practice explores both the two and three-dimensional. Her paintings are landscape derived exploring texture and medium referring back to her sculptural training. Robertson has an interdisciplinary approach to her sculpture. Her approach is thematic in that she produces small series that resolve a particular concern. In her recent work, Robertson uses ceramic, wood, encaustic, and acrylic to create two and three dimensional multi-media objects some of which appear to be excavated from the landscape. With this work, Robertson explores themes of collective memory, time travel, human impact on the land and nature’s ability to reclaim with time.
